Mass Produckshun Portrets - fayvurets.

These are some of my favorites from my mass production portrait series.
I tried to capture certain emotions from each person and then chose which one looked the most real and raw. Some of the emotions being portrayed are silly, but i think i ultimately captured each individual's personality in the way I wanted to.

Like Ryan McGinley, I wanted to take the environment and background out of the photograph so that the image was solely about the individual and nothing else was distracting from that.
I used vignetting and a few photo filters when editting, so my images are not as raw as McGinley's, but I wanted to use the vignetting to draw the eye in and used certain color filters to give them a cool tone and make them all look visually similar and cohesive.

Ryan McGinley- inspiration for mass portraiture.

Ryan Mcginley is a master of mass production portraits in my opinion simply because he is able to capture a person's essence and beauty in a single image. He is able to portray them in a way that makes you feel like you are meeting them, that gives you insight into the soul.

These photographs are just a few images from his series:
"Everybody Knows This is Nowhere"

Environmental Portrait Inspirations

Larry Clark
what a brilliant man.
he is able to capture the entire essence of someone in a single photograph and i love him for it.

Sukanto Debnath
most of his portraits are taken on the streets of Nepal.
his photographs are silly yet striking,
with a beautiful use of color.

Sally Mann
most of her photographs are taken of her children in their natural state.
some call them controversial.
i call them breath-takingly beautiful.

What i want to take from these photographers for my own is the pure honesty in their work.
I want to use my photography to tell a story, to stir up emotions within the coldest of hearts.
i want to make a statement.
i want to be bold.

my interpretation coming soon.
